Founded by Giovanni Viventi, the company initially purchased several warehouses in the Bermondsey Street area of London during the 1980’s. The warehouses were used to house Giovanni’s antique furniture business which was rapidly expanding at the time and constantly required more space for stock.
Giorgio Viventi joined the company in 1991 and worked alongside his father. During the mid 90’s Giorgio became aware of the changing nature of the Bermondsey Street area from a harsh commercial area into an urban residential area with new buyers coming to the area seeking “loft style apartments”.
Giorgio decided to create a property company in order to maximise the increased values of the warehouses that the family owned. Some of the warehouses were granted planning permission and converted into apartments and then rented out, the family still owns the apartments which have provided the basis for the property company to expand into other areas such as commercial property in SE1.
The family decided to invest in more established residential areas of London such as South Kensington, Chelsea, Battersea, Fulham and Marylebone. Each property has been renovated to a high standard.
The question, “would we want to live here” is always asked during renovation in order to maintain the high standards associated with Lumia Commercial. These properties remain part of the family portfolio.
In 2005 James Viventi joined the company after leaving University with an engineering degree. James runs the property management side of the business as all the properties are managed and maintained by ourselves using our own contractors.
More recently the property partnership has been involved in various investments and developments in Cornwall, Bristol and the Cotswolds and is constantly looking to expand and improve.
